This companion

Read over the local connection, so it costs no mesh airtime. Counters are cumulative since the companion booted.

Let others add this companion

Other people's companions only share telemetry with contacts they know. Send an advert so this radio (—) appears in their contact list, or let them scan the QR code.

Zero-hop reaches only nodes in direct radio range. Flood is repeated across the whole mesh, so it uses everyone's airtime; don't send it often.

Automatic advert every (h) flood

0 turns it off; otherwise 3–168 hours (repeaters default to 47 h for flood adverts).

Then ask the other owner to:

Add this companion as a contact (from the advert, or by scanning the QR code).
Allow telemetry for it: either telemetry for all contacts, or telemetry permission on this contact. Marking it as a favourite alone isn't enough; the firmware keeps telemetry permissions separate from the favourite flag.
Have this server's radio know their companion too (it appears under Heard contacts once it hears their advert).

Connect the companion to show its contact QR code.

Connection

The companion radio attached to this server. It relays requests to the other nodes over the mesh.

Type Serial port Prefer a /dev/serial/by-id path; it survives reboots and re-plugging. Baud rate Host TCP port BLE address BLE PIN

InfluxDB target

URL Organization InfluxDB 1.8: use - Bucket InfluxDB 1.8: database/retention_policy Token InfluxDB 1.8: username:password

Test writes one marker point (meshcore_collector) to check the token can write to the bucket.

Polling defaults

Apply to every repeater unless overridden on the repeater itself.

Poll interval (seconds) 15 min is a good default; each poll uses shared airtime. Retries per request Timeout (seconds) 0 = radio's suggestion (scales with hops) Local companion stats every (s) Stats of the attached companion; no airtime. 0 = off Node locations every (s) Positions from heard adverts, for the map dashboard. No airtime. 0 = off

Low-battery back-off

Low battery (mV) 0 disables. Li-ion ≈ 3500, LiFePO4 ≈ 3200 Recover at (mV) Low-power interval (s)

Skip while in low-power mode: status telemetry neighbours
