^P used to fall back to the last message in the transcript when nothing
was picked. A path is the route one particular message walked, so that
fallback showed the paths of whichever message happened to sit at the
bottom — never something the user asked for, and easy to mistake for the
paths of the message they were looking at.
^P now opens the pick and nothing else. The footer drops its ^P atom
while nothing is picked, and the F-key lane dims F3 Paths on the same
gate, so neither offers a key that does nothing.
